Yoga at Home
By ShesGoingGreen.com (from Wholeness + Health)

The busier we are the more difficult it is to take advantage of our gym memberships or successfully make it to every session we purchased at the local yoga studio. If you constantly find yourself in a time crunch there are ways to get adequate exercise and save time, gas and money on a time-consuming commute to the gym.

The main thing to do each day is to simply get moving. Movement is one of the primary keys to health, even if that means dancing around your living room for fifteen to twenty minutes before you head off to work or before the kids wake up. If you need to lose a considerable amount of weight, it may be to your advantage to conscientiously etch out time in your day to get to the gym, the yoga studio, walking trail, or outdoor track. But if you’re only looking to maintain your weight, we recommend infusing yoga into your life to create a peaceful balance day-to-day activities, reduce stress, and keep you naturally healthy. "Yoga can be as important as any medication," said Dr. Richard Usatine, associate dean of medical education at the FSU College of Medicine. "This is a lifestyle change. This is a way to improve the quality of your life."

Yoga DVDs
We know. We know. There are so many yoga videos on the market, where should you start? We recommend that you purchase yoga videos that speak to you on an individual level. Is there a yoga teacher you’ve seen on T.V. or read about in a magazine that you particularly like? Has a friend recommended a yoga series of DVDs that she knows you’ll love? Go with your gut and enjoy yoga at home. And then if you would like to engage in group yoga activity, drop into a glass at your leisure or save your yoga sessions at the studio for the weekends when you have more free time.

Strike a Pose

On days when you are really strapped for time consider simply doing a few poses just to get your blood flowing and to start your day off right. While it is advantageous to incorporate at least thirty minutes to an hour of yoga in your life each day, most of us get bogged down with deadlines and an overscheduled to-do list from time to time. In instances like these, we recommend yoga books that will help you replicate yoga poses that will give you a healthy lift and instant positive attitude.
